The regime has actively sought to obstruct the show by pressuring theaters to cancel performances. Over the past year, these repressive efforts have intensified, with the CCP spreading false narratives through foreign media outlets and social media platforms.

In addition to celebrating China’s rich heritage, the performance also shines a light on the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in modern China—abuses the Party works hard to conceal from the rest of the world.
