Ahead of a highly anticipated NATO summit, US President Donald Trump says he has spoken with both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky about ending the war in Ukraine.

Mr Trump claims an end to the conflict is close.

“I think we're getting much closer than people realise and President Putin wants it to end, I'll tell you that very strongly,” Mr Trump said.
