I Tried the Best Chop House in London!! (The Steak Was Insane)
Welcome to British steak heaven! Today we’re eating at one of London’s best traditional chop houses for some of the world’s best British beef at The Quality Chop House.
We’ll meet up with Head Chef Shaun Searley, to eat some of his signature dishes like parfait, chalk stream trout, their legendary confit potatoes, and most of all a massive Hereford bone-in ribeye!
Steeped in over 150 years of culinary heritage, The Quality Chop House has stood proudly on Farringdon Road since 1869. Originally known as a "progressive working-class caterer," this iconic Clerkenwell institution perfectly bridges London's rich history with modern gastronomy. The dining room still features its historic, Grade-II listed Victorian decor—complete with the famous, narrow church-pew style wooden booths. While the atmosphere is timelessly old-school, the menu is fiercely contemporary. Under the masterful direction of Head Chef Shaun Searley, the kitchen honors its deeply "meaty" past by butchering everything on-site, celebrating hyper-seasonal British produce, and crafting legendary, "croissant-crisp" sides that have taken the global food scene by storm.
