Should Your Window Fan Blow In or Out? I Tried It on a Hot Night
Should your window fan blow in or out on a hot night?
My bedroom was still hot and stuffy before bed, so I tried a simple window fan reset: opening the room up for a moment, then turning the fan to face OUT.
For years, I pointed the fan straight at my bed and hoped it would fix the heat. But sometimes the room did not need more air blowing at me—it needed a way for trapped warm air to leave.
This is not a magic trick, and it will not work on every night. It makes the most sense when the air outside is cooler than the air indoors, and when opening a window is safe and practical. But on those evenings, using a fan to push hot air out can make a bedroom feel less heavy before sleep—without buying another gadget or running the AC longer.

Would you point your window fan IN or OUT? Tell me what works in your room.
