First Ever F 22 Raptor Demo Over Washington DC

The USAF F-22 Raptor Demo Team lit up the skies over Washington, DC on July 4, 2026 — flying the full demo routine over the National Mall as part of "Salute to America," the celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary. This marked one of the only times a fighter demo team has performed the complete aerial routine inside DC's Special Flight Rules Area, airspace normally locked down tighter than almost anywhere else in the country (Reagan National even shut down for the event).
