Field Marshal Montgomery 1st place win at 2026 RSPBA European Pipe Band Championships in Scotland

Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band competing in the Grade 1 bands final at the 2026 European Pipe Band Championships. These were held in the City of Perth, Scotland, on Saturday 27th June 2026.

The band, who were led by Pipe Major Matthew Wilson and wearing Drumalig tartan, took 1st place in the Grade 1 final with their Medley performance. The tune set picked was Medley 1 - Ian Green of Greetrax, The Famous Baravan Stratspey, Rory Gallagher, Pressed for Time Jig, Sleeping Tune, Grande Nuit in Port de Perhe, The Contradiction, Clueless, Mr & Mrs Duncan's Golden Wedding 2000.

Hosted by Perth and Kinross Council, in conjunction with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA), this incredible spectacle involved 119 pipe bands from all over the world. The weather was mixed, from bright sunshine to rain and wind during the Grade ones.
