Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched more than 70 missiles, nearly half of them ballistic, and almost 500 attack drones in a large-scale overnight assault targeting Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities said at least 13 people were killed and more than 90 injured, with a Russian missile destroying a nine-story residential building and 64 apartments in the capital. Damage was reported at more than 20 locations in Kyiv, including residential buildings, an ambulance station, a research institute, a hotel and businesses. Zelensky renewed calls for increased Western air defense support, including Patriot missile systems and anti-ballistic capabilities, saying stronger defenses were essential to protect civilians and counter Russia's continued aerial attacks.
