I Put a Sweet Potato in My Aquarium for 75 Days (NO FILTER)

I grew a sweet potato in my betta fish tank for 3 months, here’s what happened.

Most aquarium filters cost money, make noise, and need maintenance. A sweet potato costs $0.89. So I set up a betta tank with a single sweet potato as the only filtration and ran the experiment for 12 weeks, updating the whole way!

Can a sweet potato actually filter aquarium water? Does the vine grow? Does the betta survive or thrive? This is 3 months of data, algae, and surprises.
