The most powerful predatory whale in the world is a giant slayer — and it hunts in perfect darkness. Sperm whales have one of the toughest jobs in the animal kingdom: descending into the ocean's midnight zone to battle giant and colossal squids. They eat so many of them that most of what we know about these elusive giants comes not from the deep sea — but from inside the bellies of these extraordinary mammals.
