Explore city vlogging through my latest daily vlog adventure about life in China, living in China, China vlogger, and inside China are topics I talk about often, but this video is different. This isn't about China's biggest cities, high-speed rail, technology, or infrastructure. This is the personal story of how a 90-day work assignment turned into 16 years of living in China.
In this China vlog, I share the truth about my journey, how I ended up staying far longer than I ever expected, and why China eventually became home. Along the way, I talk about Chinese culture, daily life, convenience, safety, community, and the people who helped shape my experience. You'll also meet local entrepreneurs and get a glimpse inside China through real conversations and everyday experiences.
For years, friends, family, and viewers have asked me why I stayed in China. Was it the opportunities? The lifestyle? The adventure? In this video, I answer those questions honestly and explain how my perspective evolved after more than a decade and a half of life in China.
But the most important part of this story has nothing to do with business, money, or success. It has everything to do with my mother. For many years, she worried constantly about my decision to live in China. She feared for my safety, questioned my happiness, and hoped I would eventually return home. Over time, through conversations, visits from friends, photos, videos, and countless stories, her view began to change. Eventually, she came to understand why I chose this life and why I was truly happy here. Looking back, my greatest accomplishment wasn't a career achievement or anything I accomplished professionally. It was helping my mother see China through my eyes and giving her peace of mind about the life I built here.
If you've ever wondered what life in China is really like from the perspective of an American who has spent 16 years here, this video is for you.
Thank you for watching, supporting the channel, and joining me as I continue sharing real experiences from inside China.
