Marco Rubio tries to reassure Gulf allies on US Iran deal

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio tries to reassure Gulf allies who were hit during the Iran-US war that a deal to end the conflict will account for their security concerns.

“We have existing relationships with these countries that go back many decades," Mr Rubio said.

“They know we’ve been with them, and they’ve been there with us.

“We are not going to do anything that undermines the security of our long-standing allies in the region.”
