Tally Lake is situated in the Flathead National Forest and is a favorite spot for Flathead Valley Locals who want to avoid the crowds of Glacier National Park. The lake has camping and a boat launch. Camping can be made by reservation and/or first come first served. The lake itself is the deepest lake in Montana with an average depth of 240 feet and a maximum depth of 495 feet. The lake has no human development on its shores with the exception of the Tally Lake campground making it a great get away. We encountered no other watercraft on our paddle. Fish in the lake include Rainbow trout, Westslope cutthroat trout, brook trout, lake trout, kokanee salmon, Northern pike, yellow perch, lake whitefish, and there are occasional mentions of sturgeon in the deep waters. #Montana #stunningnature
