Three Times Table - Multiplication Facts for Kids
A fun animated math video to help your child learn the times tables or multiplication facts. The three times table is in this video to help your child with their times tables practice.
The first step in learning how to multiply is to know about the times tables because they act like the fact sheet for multiplication. All the numbers could be multiplied by one another, the thing is that some are easy to multiply in mind and by hand while others will need specific methods which will make it easier for the kids to bring out the answers and these are usually used with the bigger numbers.
The first step in teaching kids multiplication times tables is giving them the chance to understand it all and know how the answers are counted, and then parents should go a little bit further and help the kids to memorize the times tables in an easy way through using any kind of creative ideas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r6IN-h9d-I). This is considered important because when kids understand how the times tables are counted, they become more able to bring a specific answer to two numbers multiplied by one another if they forgot it while they are exposed to the question.
Multiplication is the same as double adding and there are also some other words used in the multiplication vocabulary that would tell the kids what they are supposed to do. Double adding means adding the number which the kid is learning to every answer he/she gets in order to reach the one coming next. For example, if you are teaching your kid the times table of number 3 then they will find out that 3 x 1 = 3 and thus 3 x 2 = 6 because they will add 3 to the 3 they got in the first equation, and so on.
The times table of number three comes as follows (keeping in mind that letting the kids memorize to number 10 will be enough in order not to stuff their minds giving them no chance to think when needed):
3 x 1 = 3
3 x 2 = 6
3 x 3 = 9
3 x 4 = 12
3 x 5 = 15
3 x 6 = 18
3 x 7 = 21
3 x 8 = 24
3 x 9 = 27
3 x 10 = 30
For the kids to know that the timetable they are working on is correct and that the numbers they get are not wrong, they should measure that with the numbers like 10, 20, 30, etc. because the first stop which is 10 should be the number of the timetable they are handling plus a zero next to it and then they will keep doubling when they reach the 20 and doubling one more time when they reach the 30, and so on.
To make sure that your kid understood the whole thing about times tables, you could try checking these videos related to the times table of number two (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tzjlp9UipEg) and the one related to number four (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZbNl0RutB0) and see what your kids have truly understood and what they could actually do.
This is the basic multiplication technique that kids depend on and learn the first thing, but there are other methods related to some games they play and different ways they try on board that could also help them in solving the multiplication equations they face. There is the famous grid table method which is the best when it comes to the two digit numbers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3duqrhE8Xw), there are those games with Lego pieces that could help the kids to count and bring the final answer to the table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPW1bmLTFdA), there is the number line method which is also used with addition and subtraction but is proved to be effective with multiplication as well (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v0AjM0jcPA), there is the table method in which the kids write down the numbers from 1 to 100 and then count on them through jumping (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKom4XkX7-8), there are actually lots of ways and techniques that parents at home could depend on while homeschooling their children and which teachers could also use at school.
If you want to get a little bit creative with your tricks, you could watch this video about the mental math tricks and let us know your feedback (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYvf790iHUc).
