Subtraction games are numerous and they should be fun starting from the early educational level at home until even kids reach the secondary school, and these fun ways will differ according to the age but should always make the child interested to learn and solve the mathematical problems that are facing him/her.

There are different subtraction games out there and they might either be simply done on white board or a piece of paper, or else they could be played with the different tools that are found around the house. The most interesting learning methods are usually those which the kids come to learn while at the same time playing with their toys and these always end up being successful when it comes to math and counting numbers.

Math vocabulary is important and when it comes to subtraction, kids should also know that taking away, counting back, minus, and lots of other words are the same as subtracting and these will eventually guide the kids to what they are supposed to do. The words used in the mathematical vocabulary are not just used in the story problems but they could be also used orally in the daily conversations that parents have with their kids (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyjjN1YY_0E).

In this educational video, Michelle was talking about the idea of teaching kids how to subtract through giving the kids the chance to count back as some kind of subtracting, it could be through playing with their toys at home, it could be even done in the street with drawing and jumping on the street and it could be with using the building blocks and removing or adding to them.

Counting back for the kids is not as easy as the regular counting, they will take their time to count and think about the numbers in the backwards order. Counting back is important because it will teach the kids to take away or subtract; counting back is also helpful when it comes to the number lines because at this point kids will be taking away while jumping back on the number line doing their subtraction equation and solving it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nFYJlt_b5g).

We have tried different games and tricks with our kids to teach them math in general, whether it is about subtraction or any of the other mathematical operations that include addition, multiplication or division (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=751EHF4S_Yo).

From the different subtraction games that are found out there, there are those played with play doh and making different shapes with it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw91epryD28), there are also those challenges which parents try out with using sweets and treats for the kids (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-YBC4LPOQw) which they allow them to eat if they answered rightly and did the right moves, there are some subtraction games played with Lego pieces (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ART8iVG3yHg) and the creative ideas could keep coming up and could keep the kids excited all the time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3q7imQuRBQ).

You will find different educational videos on our channel that parents could depend on in homeschooling their children, those which could teach them math in different ways and with different levels of difficulty, there are those related to English, crafts and there are even the videos that could teach the kids how to cook (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYFZObt2o6w).

There are different educational resources that parents and kids could depend on in order to learn something new (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBsj-t9809E) and we tried lots of these resources which we believe turned out to be successful at the end after we managed to try them with our kids at home - we even recommend them for parents.

What are the methods which you have tried with your kids before to teach them math? Let us know more creative ideas and know how they turned out to be with the kids at the end, whether they were successful or else were not.

If you have any questions to ask about subtraction and the different games that could be played out there, send us your questions and we will be more than happy to answer them all and offer our help.
