Do you know what is an isosceles triangle? Lets go through this video in order to know all about it and educate the kids more when it comes to shapes.
Teaching kids more about the shapes is easy, it is easy to tell them about the circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, hexagonal, etc. and kids should know these shapes even with the things and toys they play with on a daily basis. One of these different shapes is the triangle and one of the different types of the triangles is the isosceles triangle.
Most of the kids might not even know that there are different types for the triangle and that is why they might not be well aware of the isosceles one. The isosceles triangle is the triangle with two equal sides and this means that the two sides are of equal length. The base of the isosceles triangle is the non-congruent side in the triangle and this means that it is the only one not equal in shape or length.
There are different things and examples that could tell more about the isosceles triangles and these include things that one might meet on a daily basis. These examples include coat hangers, the pieces of a pizza if they are cut equally, tortilla chips are also considered from the different examples of the isosceles triangle and also the triangular street signs.
There are different types for the triangle which the kids will get to know more about at some point of their lives. From the different types that we are referring to, there is the 2D triangle which kids could learn more about through this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8elrAoIYlE) and this comes of course in addition to the 3D triangles that kids should also know about and get introduced to.
Generally speaking about teaching kids shapes, there are different things they should learn and different ways to deliver the information right into their heads. You could choose to show the kids these shapes in the everyday life experiences they pass by or they could show them these shapes in pictures and ask the kids to answer and say what they are (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwDjm6Ra1W4).
Learn more about teaching kids the circle shape (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPNZ0Jblg_A), teaching kids more about differentiating 2D and 3D shapes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocvvov72_kc), telling them more about guessing the shapes and knowing their names (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmfCdqxTjEw) and there are also those shapes in the real world which parents should teach to their toddlers and preschoolers while they are in the phase of homeschooling them.
When the word "shapes" is mentioned, the first thing to come to the mind is math and geometry, and even though this is considered right and logical, shapes are actually found in everything we deal with on a daily basis, making it all easier for the kids to learn the shapes and remember them. When you are walking down the street with your kids, watching a movie with them or just going through ordinary work at home, you should always ask them about the shapes and what they are to test their memory and know whether they are actually learning or not.
Now, do you know what an isosceles triangle is? Let's play a game and tell us some other shapes from the real life which have three sides and two of them are equal, other than those which we have already stated in the video; show us your creativity.
Sometimes teaching the kids about the shapes happens through those games in which they have to insert the shape in the right place. This is actually good for the mind because the kid will first think about which one to pass through every single opening and at the same time it will give the mind the chance to register that this shape is a circle, a triangle, a rectangle, etc.
What are the games you play along with your kids to teach them the different shapes and educate them of the types if they are found? Let us share some creative and interesting ideas and make the kids excited about the whole learning lesson.
Enjoy watching this video about the isosceles triangle with your kids and inform us with the feedback when you are finished.
