Teach children the alphabet and phonics are two lessons that come together with introducing the letters and teaching them how to pronounce every single one correctly when placed in words with other letters.

Teaching phonics can happen in different ways and using games is a great resource in the list. Choosing the right games to play when it comes to teaching phonics always turns out to be effective as it makes the activity fun so when their lesson is related to games, it all turns to be different.

One of these games related to phonics and teaching the kids how to pronounce correctly is all about the sound dots. Sound dots are those dots placed under the letters in a word that would give separate sounds. For example, the word "CAT" has three dots for every single letter, but the word "SHOP" has only three sound dots because the S and the H are pronounced as one thing.

The game in this video is related to the sound dots. In the first part of the game, parents or teachers will choose specific words - some easy before reaching the tricky ones - and will place the sound dots under the pronounced sounds then let the kid point on the dot, pronounce every single letter or sound alone, and then spell the whole word. In the second part of this game, the parent or teacher will give the kid the chance to place the sound dots under the sounds that should be brought out from the words they have chosen to write down for them - this is important because it will help the kids know which letters are pronounced on their own and which should be combined with other ones.

Not all the words are easy to be pronounced, some of them might be a little bit tricky and difficult for the kid and that's why it is always important that the one teaching them - whether a parent or a teacher - should always choose the easy ones at the beginning and then go a little bit harder with every step after making sure that the kid is now ready to place the sound dots on the right letters and could move one level higher.

Parents might know what is phonics - although they didn't follow all these stressed on lessons the way their kids are now educated - but they might have zero ideas about how they are supposed to make it easy for the kids to learn more about phonics and at the same time give them the chance to pronounce the words correctly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iagcBAenghg).

There are different phonics activities and alphabet games that could be played with the kids for them to understand the meaning of phonics and at the same time know how to spell the letters (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk4W7Vjqmx4). There are some levels of difficulty to these activities and games, it all starts with the easy spelled words and then it ends with those tricky ones which even the adults might sometimes consider difficult to spell (such as those words which you might end up finding people spelling them differently) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3XSDGpgqOU).

Always take the process of teaching your kids the English alphabet in small steps, start with generally teaching them the letters in the right order, which could happen through the ABC song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIylRqK7NsI), and then once they are good at singing the song and recognizing the letter, move forward with the process and let them spell the letters correctly because saying the letter T is not the same as pronouncing it in a phonetic way, as if you are reading it from a word. Once you have passed these different steps, you will find that you have reached a good level with your kids regarding how to spell and pronounce the letters correctly.

Teach them the letters, teach them to spell correctly, play with them some games and you will manage to reach a good level with your kids, of course, it will need some practice, but with the games and activities, they will eventually reach the right destination.
