Acupuncture, Cupping: Traditional Chinese Medicine Wins Over Foreign Athletes & Medics at Asian Games

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments like pulse diagnosis, massage, acupuncture, and cupping are a hit at the 19th Asian Games in Zhejiang, China.

Former Bangladeshi national team player and coach, now sports reporter for DBC News, Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, faced neck and waist issues from his years in sports.

Yet, his first experience with Chinese tuina massage brought him a surprising relief.

After intense games at the Asian Games Village polyclinic, delegation officials and athletes sought TCM treatments like massage and cupping. Foreign medics were also deeply impressed by the profound knowledge and transformative effects of Chinese acupuncture. TCM treatments like massage, cupping, and bone setting have been pivotal in ensuring the health of athletes and reporters at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

The 19th Asian Games are set to run from Sept 23 to Oct 8.
