This Tiny Lake House Is Smarter Than It Looks

The Borås Getaway House looks simple from the outside: a group of compact cubic volumes placed on a rocky slope beside a lake. But the most interesting idea is inside the main house.

Within only 65 square meters, a rotated wooden core organizes the entire plan. It holds the bathroom, kitchen, and storage, while creating four living zones around it: entry and kitchen, dining, living, and bedroom.

The house is part of a small retreat made of four volumes: the main house, an annex with two bedrooms, a sauna, and a covered garage. Together, they form a quiet getaway in the forest, shaped by lake views, galvanized steel, glass, concrete, wood, and a precise compact layout.

This is a house about doing a lot with very little.
A small retreat.
A smart plan.
A rotated cube.
And a landscape that completes the experience.
