Summer is the best time to pick fruit in Yunnan! Here, the gardens are laden with fruit, so much that you cannot eat or pick them all. Sweet pineapple, juicy watermelon, crisp wax apple, fragrant grapes, sweet and sour mulberries, vibrant cherries and fragrant plums… all sparkle in the summer sun. As I walk among the fields and gardens of my homeland, the air is filled with the scent of ripe fruit and the joy of the season.
