My Filipina girlfriend was NOT ready for Bangkok’s heat, tuk tuks, Chinatown, temples, street food, river views, and ICONSIAM. Our First 24 Hours in Bangkok hit us with everything!
This was our first time exploring Bangkok together, and I wanted to show Ann why Thailand has felt like home to me for so many years. In this Bangkok travel vlog, we dive straight into the first-day chaos, beauty, food, and culture of one of the most exciting cities in Southeast Asia.
📍 Highlights of Our First Day in Bangkok, Thailand:
-Talat Noi: We explore one of Bangkok’s oldest neighborhoods, filled with street art, old buildings, machine shops, hidden corners, and river views.
-First Tuk Tuk Ride: Ann takes her very first tuk tuk ride through Bangkok traffic into Chinatown, and her reaction says everything.
-Chinatown Bangkok / Yaowarat: We dive into the markets, street food, colors, smells, and chaos of one of Bangkok’s most exciting food areas. We also try dim sum from a family recipe that has been around for generations.
-Chao Phraya River: We hop on a boat and cruise down the river, taking in Bangkok’s skyline, temples, and city life from the water.
-Wat Arun / Temple of Dawn: We dress in traditional Thai clothes, take photos, and experience one of Bangkok’s most iconic temples right on the river.
-ICONSIAM: We finish the day at one of the most impressive malls in Thailand with a Thai street food tour at SOOKSIAM. We try a Chinese oyster omelet, fresh coconut water, and mango sticky rice that was “magical.” Then we explore the mall, find river views, a massive indoor fountain, and end the day with sunset over Bangkok.
This video is part Bangkok travel vlog, part Thailand first impressions, and part Filipina reaction to Thailand — but really, it is about seeing Bangkok through fresh eyes. Ann had never experienced anything quite like this city before, and watching her react to the food, culture, temples, heat, chaos, beauty, and kindness of Thailand made Bangkok feel new to me all over again.
