Why Rome Destroyed the Septizodium

One of the greatest monuments from the Severan period was the Septizodium monument at the base of the Palatine hill by the Via Appia. We reconstruct its appearance through historic drawings and trace its destruction and recycling into other monuments in Christian Rome. A great conversation on the spoliation of Ancient Rome!
