Deep in the forest, a five-year-old elephant had been caught in a hunter’s snare. A thick cable wire remained wrapped tightly around the base of his trunk, cutting into his flesh and causing severe pain and swelling.

Thanks to the quick action of a forest ranger, dedicated wildlife officers, and a skilled veterinary team, this young elephant was sedated, the wire was removed, and his wound was carefully treated. After medication, cleaning, and bandaging, the reversal drug was administered, and the elephant walked back into the forest—back to his herd.
