Camping at Australia's best Milky Way viewing spot near Brisbane
Hello friends. My wife and I are on our way today to a campsite in Taroom, about an hour and a half from home. Now that autumn has arrived, the weather is absolutely wonderful.
This is Lovers Lane Campground, located near Lake Mookerah, where I visit once three years ago.
The campsite owner is guiding us to the campground. You have to climb this steep path for about 15 minutes from the entrance. This place is famous as the best spot for stargazing because it has the least light pollution around Brisbane. There was quite a lot of water in the valley just three years ago, but now it is very dry. Today, I prepared a cot tent that is suitable for weather and car awning. The dinner my wife prepared tonight is lemongrass chicken. It's one of her favorite foods. The same goes for me. I woke up to the sound of birds in the morning, opened the tent, and stepped out to find the breathtaking scenery of a beautiful valley coming into view. The temperature difference between day and night is quite severe these days. We used autumn sleeping bags, but we felt a bit chilly in early morning. Our Breakfast is a mashed avocado with chilly powder, sourdough bread with a pig salad and fantastic coffee. The crystal clear Milky Way I gazed at in the deep night is a beautiful sight I will never forget in my lifetime. Fantastic camping food on a Friday evening! I feel like I have everything in the world. Isn't this the kind of joy that makes us enjoy camping in beautiful nature, even though it is physically demanding!
