New Heaven and Earth Part4 The Bride Temple Comes Down |Revelation 21:1-4. Who Is The Bride? Many expositors identify the bride through subjective lenses referring to it as the members of the body of Christ. In this study, we take a different perspective and show that the coming of the tabernacle of God in Revelation 21:2-3, parallels the incarnation of Christ as the word, in the beginning of the new heaven and earth creation. Christ came into the darkness and chaos of the old covenant world, to tabernacle among them in the flesh.
We explore relationships between parallel texts in the teaching of Paul and particularly in Galatians 4 and John 4. The Genesis account is review to examine the order of the creation of man and woman, or Eve, the mother of all living, a type of Sarah, who is called the "mother of us all. These are clearly covenant identities, and thus the church is represented by Christ as the covenant bride.
John sums up the picture and description of the Bride as the heavenly temple shown to him by the angel who carries him into a high mountain. What he sees is described as the heavenly city, the holy temple and its walls, i.e. God and Christ.
