An introverted house in Indonesia presents a solid, windowless street façade formed by two stacked volumes screened by perforated metal. Privacy shapes the plan: services and common areas at the front, increasingly private rooms toward the rear. Despite its closed face to the street, the home opens generously on all sides internally, with large openings and minimal bulkheads to ensure healthy light and ventilation in a dense, attached neighborhood. Terracotta-toned tiles—typically used indoors—wrap the exterior as a precisely crafted façade system, celebrating local carpentry skill and meticulous construction.
