So in this lecture I discuss how America is a LEETLE behind the European Avant-Garde when it comes to painting in the 19th C., but hey...we're Americans, we were born with a chip on our shoulders and we are ready to come behind. Then we discuss how the Ash Can School and the Photo-Secession sets the stage for America to become the center of the Art World in the 20th C.
