American TRAVELS to PUNE, MAHARASHTRA + Apartment Tour | Pune, India
After I landed in Mumbai at midnight to kick off my second visit to India in November of 2018, my friend Sam and I took a car ride to my first official city of this trip, Pune, which is the second-largest city and the cultural capital of the state of Maharashtra. On our way to Pune, Sam and I stopped to get some chai, a creamy and delicious Indian tea that is made with milk and ginger and reminds me of café con leche. Even though it was 4:30 in the morning, the tea had us both feeling super energized as we caught up after not seeing each other for four years! Our private, three-hour ride to Pune cost us 4,000 Rupees, or $56 U.S.

By the time we made it to our Airbnb in Pune, it was nearly 6:30 a.m. and the sun was coming up! Our amazing accommodations were located in a nice, safe area of the city, next to a park, and included two spacious bedrooms with nice closets, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a large living room and dining room, beautiful artwork and photographs on the walls, and a beautiful terrace that is surrounded by greenery and even had a bird’s nest! And it only cost us $40 U.S. per night!
