13‑year‑old killed, teen injured after argument leads to shooting, police say

A 13-year-old boy was killed and another teen was injured Tuesday night after an altercation led to a shooting in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, police said.

The gunfire erupted around 8:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of North 19th Street.

Investigators say the teens were playing basketball on a makeshift court behind several homes when an altercation involving multiple people broke out, leading to gunfire.

Police said the 13-year-old was shot multiple times and later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
