I wish that I started strength training earlier in my career but like many others, I was under the impression that it's not really necessary for ballet dancers as we already train a lot as it is and I was slightly scared of weights because I didn't wanna get bulky...

However, strength training is one of the most overlooked yet most important parts of ballet training and I want you to start benefitting from it earlier than I did 💕

In this video, I’m taking you through a full-body workout designed to help dancers build real strength, control and stability. Because technique isn’t just about knowing what to do... it’s about having the physical ability to execute it.

When you get stronger, everything in your dancing improves:
– Your balances become more stable
– Your turns feel more controlled
– Your jumps gain height and power
– Your extensions become easier to hold
– Your landings become safer

Strength training also plays a huge role in injury prevention. Many common dance injuries come from weakness or lack of control, not just overuse. When your muscles are strong, they can properly support your joints, absorb impact and protect your body under load 💕

If you’ve never done strength training before, you can absolutely start with bodyweight. Focus on learning the exercises, building the proper coordination and developing control.

But as your body adapts, it’s important to gradually add resistance. That’s how you continue to build strength, challenge your muscles and actually keep progressing.

This isn’t about becoming bulky or changing your physique, I'm not telling you to become a bodybuilder (and by the way, building muscle is way harder than you think)...it’s about becoming a stronger, more capable and a more resilient dancer 💕
