It is Good Friday in Ambridge, but there is little peace to be found as long-standing relationships crumble and village power dynamics shift.
In today’s episode, the atmosphere at The Bull is incredibly frosty. Miranda and Oliver are sharing a quiet lunch, raising a glass to Oliver’s late wife, Caroline, on what would have been her birthday. When a desperate Brian attempts to crash their meal, he is met with a cold reception. Despite Brian's pleas that he wants to be with her, he remains unable to commit to moving into the farmhouse, citing "complicated factors". Pushed to her limit by what she calls "pathetic lies," Miranda makes the life-changing decision to call it a day, telling a devastated Brian that it is finally over.
Meanwhile, a "mutiny" is afoot regarding the village cricket pitch. Robert finally confesses to Linda that he went behind her back to negotiate a deal with Oliver for the new "Bull" cricket team to use the ground. In a surprising turn of events, rather than fighting the change, Linda decides to formally "hand the baton" over to Robert, leaving him to manage the "thankless task" of the upcoming season.
We also hear a concerning update regarding Pip Archer, who was seen looking "out of sorts" following her visit to the doctor's surgery.
