Is the Bliss Parfuma variety worth growing?

(First year in the hot climate of Texas)
First year: My plant grew very well throughout the spring and early summer. Towards the end of summer, it stopped growing and flowering. In the fall, it produced a few small, unusual flowers and then went dormant.

Now, in the spring of its second year, it's waking up and flowering, having already produced three blooms. It has no diseases or pests. I live in zone 9a, Florida.
