In today’s instalment, Pip Archer takes the difficult step of visiting the surgery to see Dr Azra. Haunted by the memory of her mother, Ruth, battling breast cancer at a similar age, Pip undergoes an examination for a small lump she discovered. While Dr Azra offers some reassurance that it may be a harmless cyst or fibroadenoma, she makes an urgent referral to the breast clinic to be safe. Pip is left grappling with the decision of whether to tell her mum or keep the worry to herself to avoid "stirring things up".
Meanwhile, a quiet ride between Miranda and Oliver turns into a moment of staggering honesty. As Miranda reels from Brian's refusal to move into the farmhouse, Oliver inadvertently reveals a scandalous "indiscretion" from the past: an affair between Brian and Oliver’s late wife, Caroline. A shocked Miranda is left questioning if she ever truly knew the real Brian Aldridge, as she and Oliver agree to mark what would have been Caroline’s 71st birthday together.
