Welcome to Alaska - Riding from the Top of the World to the Gulf of Alaska (S5:E13)

Departing Canada on the Top of the World Highway, Chad and Rose cross the northernmost overland border crossing into the United States, entering Alaska for Rose's first time.

After stopping in the quirky gold-rush outpost of Chicken, the duo continue south toward the Gulf of Alaska, riding one of the state’s oldest and most spectacular stretches of pavement - the legendary Richardson Highway.

Winding through the towering peaks of the Chugach Mountains, past glaciers and waterfalls in Keystone Canyon, the road eventually leads to the historic coastal town of Valdez, perched on the shores of Prince William Sound.

But the journey doesn’t end there.

Turning north once again, Chad and Rose follow the remote McCarthy Road deep into Wrangell-St. Elias National Park to explore one of the most impressive and best-preserved mining complexes in North America - the historic Kennecott Mine.
