Located in Zushi, House at the Urban-Nature Threshold by Teitakusubako and Yusuke Igarashi Architects is designed as a spatial mediator between dense urban surroundings and the adjacent natural landscape. Rather than favoring one condition, the 215-square-meter home uses layered volumes, shifting boundaries, and carefully controlled openings to create a gradient of privacy and openness, allowing light, views, and atmosphere to move fluidly through the interior. By integrating solid materials like stone with subtle spatial transitions, the house blurs the line between inside and outside, offering a nuanced living environment that continuously negotiates the relationship between architecture, city, and nature.
