In this video, we continue building our Full Stack Job Portal Application using Next.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and Prisma.
Today you will learn how to build a real-world “Apply Now” modal that allows applicants to easily apply for a job.
When a user clicks the Apply Now button, a modal dialog (shadcn Dialog component) appears with the job title, a pre-selected resume, and a cover letter field.
We also implement logic to check if the user has already applied, ensuring duplicate applications are prevented.
In this tutorial you will learn:
• How to create a reusable ApplyJobModal component
• How to integrate shadcn Dialog in Next.js
• How to pre-select user resume in a dropdown
• How to check if the user already applied for a job
• How to structure props and types in TypeScript
In the next video, we will store the application data in the database using Prisma.
