I visited Athens for the first time this February, and it completely lived up to expectations. We visited mid-winter to see the historic sites with fewer crowds, and mostly got lucky with the sunshine, apart from one very soggy day.

We explored Plaka and the tiny neighbourhood of Anafiotika, wandered around Monastiraki and the flea market at Abyssinia Square, and visited the Ancient Agora, the Acropolis, and the National Archaeological Museum. We also climbed Lycabettus Hill and visited the Panathenaic Stadium. For museums, I loved the Fassianos Museum and the Yannis Pappas Studio, both a little off the beaten track and well worth the trip.

The food was one of my favourite things about Athens. The souvlaki at Lefteris o Politis had a queue of elderly local men outside, which is always a good sign. And the yogurt at Stani was one of the best things I've ever eaten.

This is a silent travel vlog with no talking, so enjoy the atmosphere of Athens with me.
