VARANGER PENINSULA
At the northeastern tip of mainland Norway, lies a wild land called Varanger. Come spring, a plethora of fascinating birds migrate here. The rugged beaches, vertical cliffs and endless tundra are their stages to perform, as they sing, dance and fight to attract a mate. For a week in May, I travel around this bird photographer’s haven, and photograph its beautiful inhabitants.

The species I photograph in this video are the white tailed eagle, Eurasian otter, stoat (ermine), northern hawk owl, short-eared owl, yellow-billed loon, arctic fox, arctic tern, ruddy turnstone, ruff lek, golden plover, common ringed plover, dunlin, rock ptarmigan, willow ptarmigan (willow grouse), whooper swan, long-tailed duck, whimbrel, red knot, mountain hare, ruff lek, Eurasian moose, musk rat and western capercaillie.
