A Monolithic Stone House Designed Around Nature | V House
The V House is a refined exploration of architecture as an extension of nature—where form, material, and landscape merge into a singular, timeless expression. Organized around a distinctive “V” plan, the house is composed of rectilinear volumes that shelter themselves from the prevailing north and northwest winds while opening generously to the south, embracing the garden, the pool, and distant sea views.
Clad entirely in natural stone—across façades, floors, ceilings, and roofs—the house presents itself as a monolithic structure rooted firmly in its context. This continuous stone skin creates a sense of permanence and material coherence, allowing the architecture to age gracefully while reinforcing its organic relationship with the surrounding landscape. Carefully placed stone louvres filter daylight and preserve privacy, particularly along the façades facing the pool and the eastern suites.
The long, linear pool extends along the southern façade, echoing the geometry of the house and forming a calm visual counterpoint within the garden. Lush, tropical-inspired vegetation envelops the outdoor spaces, providing privacy while softening the mineral character of the stone architecture.
Arrival at the house is defined by a stone-clad parking portico, where a tree rises through the structure, symbolizing the project’s central theme: continuity between architecture and nature. Pedestrian access crosses a delicate bridge over the garage ramp, creating a gradual transition from the exterior landscape into the intimate interior world of the house.
Inside, the entrance hall opens onto a central courtyard dominated by a mature tree that pierces the roof, becoming the spiritual and spatial heart of the project. This courtyard unites the two arms of the “V,” drawing natural light deep into the house and establishing a constant visual dialogue between inside and outside.
The western wing of the ground floor accommodates the social spaces, conceived as a fluid sequence rather than compartmentalized rooms. The kitchen stands as an autonomous volume, subtly connected to the dining and living areas through freestanding elements that conceal functional spaces such as staircases, storage, and service areas. A fireplace gently defines the transition between dining and living zones while preserving visual continuity. On the eastern wing, four suites are arranged along a naturally lit corridor, each offering direct access to the garden through a covered exterior gallery.
The upper floor is reserved for the master suite—an independent volume designed as a private retreat. With panoramic views over the golf course, pine forest, and sea, the suite includes a home office, walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom. An adjacent terrace extends along the northern volume, offering a serene space for contemplation and uninterrupted engagement with the landscape.
On the lower level, the garage is fully isolated from the living spaces, while the northern volume houses technical areas, laundry, gym, cinema room, and guest or staff accommodation. These spaces are softly illuminated by three light wells, creating a calm, introspective atmosphere that aligns with the overall character of the house.
Supporting pool structures, discreetly positioned and clad in the same stone, reinforce the project’s material unity and integrate seamlessly into the garden. Every architectural gesture within the V House is deliberate—crafted to balance privacy and openness, solidity and lightness, architecture and nature.
The result is a serene, enduring residence where spatial fluidity, timeless materials, and a deep connection to the landscape define a new standard of understated luxury living.
