Four beautiful cheetah cubs have arrived at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, born to first-time mom Amabala on October 17–18. 🐆❤️

These newborns are already healthy, active, vocal and bonding closely with their mom — a heartwarming display of the powerful love between a mother cheetah and her babies. Staff are keeping a hands-off approach to allow natural bonding, watching quietly through the Cheetah Cub Cam, where viewers around the world can witness these precious early moments.

This litter marks the 20th cheetah litter born at the Front Royal campus, and a major win for cheetah conservation, as only 6,500–7,500 cheetahs remain in the wild.
