A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FUTURE: A Journey to the End of Time

How will the universe end? This experience will take us on a journey to the very edge of time, trillions of years into the future, to discover what the fate of our planet and universe might ultimately be.

We begin in 2019 and travel exponentially through time, witnessing the future of Earth, the death of the sun, the end of all stars, proton decay, zombie galaxies, possible future civilizations, the disappearance of black holes, the impact of dark matter, the ultimate fate of the universe.
This is a picture of the future sketched by modern science – a picture that will surely evolve over time as we search for more clues about the future of the universe. Much of the evidence has been found recently, and new pieces of the puzzle are yet to be discovered.
For me, this overarching view of time offers a clear perspective that we are living within the early stages after the Big Bang, the perfect moment to immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the universe in its glorious days, before it all vanishes. Regardless of the end that may come, we have almost infinite time to live if we know how to live well. The future of the universe may look somewhat bleak, but we have immense potential to become a glorious milestone in history.
