Mustang - The Forgotten Himalayan Valley (filmed with Nikon ZR) - A Booster Film documentary
Written, directed and narrated by Aleš Bravničar for / booster.film
The documentary, filmed with the Nikon ZR, is a visual expedition into the former Nepalese kingdom, set among the peaks of the Himalayas. Along the powerful flow of the Kali Gandaki River, cutting like a silver snake through the world’s deepest gorge, we follow the footsteps of ancient caravan routes once used to transport salt, and we listen to the mysterious whisper of Tibet’s enduring spirit. Mustang, positioned at the crossroads of the Himalayas’ relentless winds deep in the heart of Nepal, remained closed to the world for centuries, preserving its untouched essence and heart. The film tells the story of a kingdom that defies time and has only opened for foreigners in 1992. It is a tribute to a high mountain landscape where past and present merge into a single, timeless beauty and an evocation of a world that modernity has almost forgotten. It premiered at Cankarjev Dom Cultural Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia on November 19th, 2025.
