Many classic holiday films get in the festive mood with Christmas music, decorations, snowy scenes, and other Yuletide traditions. A lot of them are musical, magical, spiritual, and very colorful. One of our favorite Christmas movies doesn’t have any of these elements, though. It’s older than most holiday classics; it’s in black-and-white; and it doesn’t feature angels, ghosts, elves, or Santa Claus. It’s just a simple story about a family who welcomes a stranger into their home over the holidays, yet it manages to capture the true spirit of Christmas. This movie is “Remember the Night” from 1940.
