Mikomoto island is one of the best dive site to dive with the school of Hammerhead sharks.
It’s only 3hours from Haneda Airport or 4hours from Narita Airport by Shinkansen and local train to Shimoda.
Mikomoto island is 10km south off the peninsula and this is where the Kuroshio current hits.
The best season for the hammerheads is from the early summer to Autumn The visibility can be more than 30m, nice and warm water and current could be very strong so that is why the sharks love this island.
