Powerful Winter Storm Moves Across Eastern US

A powerful winter storm is sweeping across the country, putting nearly 72 million people under winter weather alerts from the Rockies to southern New England. Forecasters say the system will bring a dangerous mix of heavy rain, snow, and ice, with the worst conditions arriving Tuesday before clearing out by Wednesday. The storm began moving east on Monday and will reach the Mid-Atlantic by Tuesday, then push into New England by Tuesday night.
