Travis Crashes and Breaks His Leg: Canada Camping and ADV Riding Trip Gone Wrong

Our ADV riding trip to Canada didn't turn out quite the way we expected it to. ‪@ExploreAdventureMoto‬, ‪@SlowEddie‬, and I headed up to Northern Vancouver Island, BC to take part in the first annual "Get Lost and Find Yourself" campout and fundraiser organized by our friend Chris (aka Critter Moto). The ride up was fun and mostly uneventful and we had a great first night around the campfire with friends. We set out to do some ADV riding and exploring the next day and unfortunately that's when disaster struck. Travis went down on a decommissioned railroad bridge and his leg was pinned underneath his Africa Twin. As soon as we moved the bike we knew it was broken. We were able to get help and get him to the hospital where he had surgery to repair his leg before I brought him home in a car a couple days later.
