Africa’s “Great Green Wall” is a massive reforestation project stretching from Senegal to Djibouti, aimed at stemming the spread of the Sahara Desert. In addition to restoring ecosystems, the project has helped alleviate poverty, create jobs, and ease long-standing conflicts between communities over land, water, and livelihoods.
