Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe held the Mayor’s Annual Community BBQ on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Barrhaven, a vibrant, family-friendly suburb south of downtown Ottawa.

The event was all free and included a BBQ lunch, sweet treats, live entertainment, and fun activities such as yard and fair games, a balloon artist, a juggler, inflatable structures for the kids, and more.

Visitors of all ages enjoyed good food and company and learned about various services provided by the City of Ottawa. They also had a chance to explore some of the city’s emergency vehicles and service vehicles, and to meet the officers and horses of the Ottawa Police Service’s Mounted Unit.

The event ran from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. A fantastic way to spend a summer afternoon!
