The Suzuki DRZ400s is one of the most reliable motorcycles of all time, so imagine my surprise when it suddenly died and wouldn't start again after climbing almost all the way up a mountainside. After messing with it a bit and trying to utilize my limited mechanical abilities to diagnose the problem, I was able to narrow it down to a fuel tank pressure issue and eventually get the bike started and make it back to camp. Before all this, I set out on what I thought was going to be a pretty normal camping and motorcycle riding trip. I road tripped up over the Santiam Pass with stops at Lost Lake and Round Lake along the way, as well as some beautiful views of Three Fingered Jack. Once I arrived at my campsite at Gorge Campground near Camp Sherman, Oregon, I unloaded my Suzuki DRZ 400 and took off towards my destination: the Green Ridge Lookout. I made it 75% of the way up the mountain when I had my dual sport break down and got temporarily stranded at 4200 feet of elevation. It was a sketchy/scary experience for sure, but eventually I made it back to camp for a more relaxing evening by the campfire.
