SpaceX just declared Starship B15 Launch Plan Changed to Push Limit Shocked NASA Scientist...
This is unexpected! We were supposed to witness the breathtaking sight of Booster 15 landing straight into Mechazilla on Starship Flight 11, but in the latest mission update, SpaceX suddenly changed the plan at the last minute.
So, what’s the new plan this time? And what exactly made them switch things up?
Let’s find out in today’s episode of Alpha Tech.

Every single day, every single hour at Starbase right now feels like steady progress toward Flight 11. Booster 15 has already been rolled out to the Rocket Garden, partly to free up Mega Bay 1, and partly to make its move to the launch pad easier in just a few days. And guess what? The Orbital Launch Mount has been reset to its original configuration, looking more than ready to host both B15 and Ship 38 once stacking begins.
On top of that, another piece of news has shaken things up. Just a few days ago, the U.S. Coast Guard revised its Local Notice to Mariners for the Boca Chica launch area. Originally, the hazard period for rocket operations was set to begin on October 6. Now, the updated notice pushes that back by exactly one week, with warnings only starting on October 13, covering daily windows from 23:15 to 01:22 UTC through October 20. SpaceX themselves have also confirmed this schedule on their website.
In Texas time, that means the launch hazard period runs roughly from 6:15 PM to 8:22 PM CDT on October 13. And this also tells us something important: the launch schedule for Starship Flight 11 has shifted as well, since SpaceX always coordinates with the Coast Guard early on to issue timely alerts, keeping mariners away from the danger zone in case anything goes wrong.

All we can do now is hope for clear skies… so we can watch the dragon roar to life over the Texas coast once again.
And honestly, there are 3 pretty interesting reasons why a lot of people think SpaceX made the right call by delaying the launch.
The first reason? It’s symbolic. Flight 11 was rescheduled for October 13, 2025, right on the one-year anniversary of Flight 5, when Super Heavy Booster 12 was caught by Mechazilla for the very first time. This isn’t just a sentimental choice. SpaceX is smart — they’re using the date to highlight a milestone, grab global attention, and remind everyone why they’re still leading the way in aerospace.
