Burkat Shudi Harpsichord

This walnut veneered harpsichord was made by the Swiss-born Burkat Shudi in 1740. It is one of his earliest instruments to survive. It is thought that Handel may have played this very instrument! Watch this film to learn more about the complexity of the harpsichord and hear its incredible sound.
